Why should my agreement be signed by a judge?

If there comes a point in your Family Court or Supreme Court matter where both parties agree to the terms of settlement, it is important for a judge to sign off on such agreements. The reason for that is because if the document is not signed by a judge it is not a court order. If the agreement is not a court order it cannot be enforceable in a court of law. In order to protect yourself in case the other party to the matter does not follow the terms and conditions of the agreement the agreement must be signed by a judge. This allows you to bring the other party to court on a violation of your agreement. If a judge does not sign off on your agreement you cannot enforce the agreement in court.
