BIOGRAPHY

Anthony A. Capetola, a graduate of Wagner College and New York Law School, has been practicing matrimonial and family law for over 43 years. He is also a former assistant district attorney and practices in the area of criminal defense litigation.

​

Mr. Capetola was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1971. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He was an Assistant District Attorney for the County of Nassau until 1973 and has been admitted to many federal jurisdictions across the country because of his extensive background in criminal law. Mr. Capetola founded his current practice in 1976.

Mr. Capetola has served as an Adjunct Professor at the Widener University School of Law and has lectured extensively in all phases of criminal and civil litigation, including seminars held by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy at Widener University School of Law and Hofstra University School of Law. He has also lectured or been a panelist at the Nassau County Bar Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association.

Because of his expertise in the field of matrimonial law, Mr. Capetola has been appointed as a Special Referee by the Nassau County Supreme Court to supervise discovery in many matrimonial cases in Nassau County.

​

Mr. Capetola has successfully handled thousands of matrimonial and criminal cases during his career. He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York Family Law American Inns of Court.
