BIOGRAPHY
Chelsea S. McGrath joined Capetola & Divins in 2024. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. McGrath worked as a criminal defense attorney for Suffolk County Legal Aid providing legal representation for indigent clients charged with crimes ranging from simple violations to complex felonies. In 2022, Ms. McGrath joined a private firm as the lead senior staff attorney for the criminal defense department.
Ms. McGrath is a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice (BA, Forensic Psychology) and obtained her Juris Doctorate Magna cum Laude from Touro Law School. During her time at Touro Law, she was the Vice President of the Student Bar Association and the Associate Editor in Chief of the Moot Court Honors Board. She participated in and won the 2017 Nassau County Hon. Elaine Jackson Stack Moot Court Competition. Ms. McGrath was the recipient of the 2018 National Association of Women Lawyers Award and the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Family Law. Ms. McGrath also completed an externship with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in the homicide and major crime bureau.
