BIOGRAPHY
Maxwell Velikodny, Esq. JD/MBA is an associate attorney at Capetola & Divins, P.C., where he represents clients in commercial litigation and matrimonial matters. Mr. Velikodny’s practice involves guiding clients through complex, often high-stakes disputes, with a focus on developing practical, strategic solutions tailored to the unique circumstances of each matter. Mr. Velikodny works with clients through all stages of litigation, from the early assessment and development of a case through motion practice, discovery, negotiation, and resolution. Drawing on his background in financial services, compliance, and regulation, Mr. Velikodny brings a detail-oriented and analytical approach to complex legal and financial issues.

Prior to joining Capetola & Divins, P.C., Mr. Velikodny developed extensive experience in the financial services industry, including serving as a Senior Examiner at FINRA and working in compliance at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Velikodny has experience handling complex legal and regulatory matters and brings a practical, analytical approach to his work. At FINRA, he conducted examinations of broker-dealers, clearing firms, and proprietary trading firms, evaluating compliance with federal securities laws and industry regulations. At Morgan Stanley, he advised on trading-related regulatory matters, risk management, and firm policies and procedures.

Prior to his career in financial services, Mr. Velikodny worked at the New York State Attorney General’s Office, Pfizer, the Manhattan and Richmond County District Attorney’s Offices, and the Richmond County Surrogate’s Court.
​
Mr. Velikodny earned his Juris Doctor from New York Law School and his Master of Business Administration from Quantic School of Business and Technology. He received his undergraduate degree from CUNY College of Staten Island’s Macaulay Honors College, where he graduated as valedictorian.

Mr. Velikodny is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey and is pending admission in New York.
