No matter whether you are the residential custodial parent or not there are a couple things to note if you would like to bring your child on vacation. You must provide the other parent with notice of such trip, the more notice you can provide the better. You also must provide the other parent with the departing and arriving flight information/departure and arrival dates and the address of where you are staying. It is important to note that you must allow the other parent an opportunity to speak with the child while on vacation. Just because you are on vacation does not mean that the other parent’s access to the child has to be limited. They still have the right to know where the child is and have the ability to speak with them during that time as well.
