Forensic Evaluation’s in custody matters are common when a professional is needed to aid the court in a custody battle, to determine which parent should have custody and decision making rights. The evaluator is a neutral third party appointed by the court who will conduct comprehensive interviews of the parties, the children, how the children interact with each parent and collateral third party sources such as teachers and or/therapists. After completing the evaluation, the forensic evaluator writes a detailed report summarizing their findings and providing recommendations regarding custody and visitation arrangements. This report is submitted to the court and can be used as evidence during custody trials.
