What is the benefit of a Pre-nuptial Agreement?

A Pre-nuptial Agreement protects an individual’s assets prior to marriage. If an individual has assets they have accrued prior to marriage that they are looking to protect in the event of a divorce, a pre-nuptial agreement is necessary.

A pre-nuptial agreement would be highly advised if an individual has a business or family assets they would like to protect. There are times when individuals may be worried about getting a pre-nuptial agreement from an emotional standpoint however it is simply a document to protect your pre-marital assets. A couple can include whatever assets they have in the pre-nuptial and determine how they would like to divide such assets in the event of a divorce.
