
BIOGRAPHY
Prior to joining Capetola and Divins in 2026, Ms. Giancristofaro served as a criminal defense attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, where she began her legal career in 2014.

Throughout her tenure, she represented clients charged with offenses ranging from misdemeanors to complex felony and violent felony matters, advocating for clients at every stage of the criminal justice process, including arraignments, hearings, motion practice, plea negotiations, and trial.
​
Ms. Giancristofaro has extensive courtroom experience litigating criminal matters in New York State courts and has developed particular experience in Sex Offender Registration Act (SORA) proceedings, including representing clients in registration and risk-level hearings. She is committed to providing strategic, thorough, and compassionate representation while protecting the constitutional rights of every client.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Giancristofaro served as both Secretary and Vice President of the Suffolk County Legal Aid Attorneys Association following its formation. In these leadership roles, she advocated on behalf of her fellow attorneys and helped advance the organization’s mission.

Ms. Giancristofaro earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Seton Hall University before obtaining her Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School.

Ms. Giancristofaro understands that legal matters often have significant consequences beyond the courtroom, including their impact on family and matrimonial matters, as well as on careers, reputations, and future opportunities. She is committed to guiding clients through these challenging circumstances with practical advice, compassionate counsel, and vigorous advocacy.

In addition to her courtroom practice, Ms. Giancristofaro is dedicated to educating the public on criminal law and the justice system through legal commentary and educational social media. She has been featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, TMZ, Chaz and AJ in the Morning, and The Criminally Obsessed Podcast. Her ability to explain complex legal issues in an accessible manner reflects her commitment to serving both her clients and the community.
